Unit 3

My Ratings

A.    Physical Well being-I would rate myself as a 7 as I don't push myself each day to make the right choices.  Meaning I don't follow a strict exercise plan nor do I make all the healthy choices pertaining to my food.  In seminar this week Professor Mark said something that is still sticking with me.  He said "Breakfast is fuel for the body."  Of course I know that we are supposed to eat breakfast everyday but I don't. During the week I'll drink coffee and get so wrapped up in my busy morning that I forget to eat.

B.    Spiritual Well-Being-I would rate myself as a 9 because I do strive every day to follow the golden rule of treating people the same way you would want someone to treat you.  I'm a religious person meaning I'm God-fearing and a faithful member of my local congregation.

C.    Psychological Well-Being-I would rate myself as a 9 because I have changed so much now that I'm in my forties.  I no longer think the world revolves around me and my wishes.  I am now a calm and level headed person who everyday sees the positive instead of the negative in a situation/person.

Goal Setting/Implementation

My short term goal is to eat a well-balanced breakfast 7 days a week for a least a month.  In order for me to be successful in achieving this goal I must do the prep work in my spare time.  This will ensure that I have no excuses as to why I can't accomplish my goal.

The Crime of the Century Relaxation Exercise

The only part of this experience that I liked was the Aqua Blue the ability to feel that I have meaningful purpose in my life.  Still can't understand why this exercise was called the Crime of the Century.

I hope everyone has had a positive and enjoyable week!

  1. Katrina,

I was very glad to read about your positive attitude towards life. Still confused about the title of that exercise, I have to admit that I enjoyed it because the color visualizations took me to a happy place. The rain is good but the rainbow after the rain is awesome. I hope that you will keep developing your positive thoughts and also, eat breakfast every day. I was in the same boat since I felt it was the easiest meal of the day to skip. Yet, starting the day with some good, healthy fuel will make a huge difference. Best of luck to you!

  2. Hi Katrina,

I have heard of so many people skipping breakfast. I would not be able to do that at all. By the time I am done with my shower in the morning I am ready to eat! I will admit that I am a creature of habit with my meal choice. For the past two years, my breakfast has included 4 hard boiled egg whites and oatmeal. (Unless my son decides to make pancakes.) I think after getting into a routine of eating breakfast, you may feel better throughout your whole day. Good luck to you.
